Indians Win at Rabun

Grant Babbitt pitched 5 and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Ben Stowe homered to lead Stephens County to a 7-3 victory at Rabun County on Thursday night.

Both starting pitchers struggled finding the strike zone early. Babbitt entered the game in the 2nd inning with the bases loaded and one out but allowed only one runner to cross home plate and keep the score at 4-3 Stephens County.

Stephens County only had 4 hits in the game but took advantage of 11 walks. Garrett Burgess had 2 RBI’s with two of the Indian hits, Carson Worley reached base four times, scored three runs, and added a hit, and Stowe’s homer, and bases loaded walk to Cruz Mullinix accounted for the other Indian RBI’s.

Babbitt got the win to improve to 2-0. Cooper Welch took the loss for Rabun.

Stephens County has won 4 of their last 5 games to improve to 4-5 on the season. Rabun County falls to 1-4.

The Indians will be on the road for a doubleheader at Jackson County on Saturday. Airtime on WNEG is scheduled for 11:45 A.M. with first pitch in game one scheduled for 12 noon.
