Indians will face Athens Academy, tonight, at home

After playing their first two games of the season on the road, the Stephens County Indians will play their home opener tonight as they host Athens Academy at the Reservation in high school football action.  Last week, the Indians won over Hart County in a close game, 10 to 7, to improve their record to 2 & 0 on the season.  Athens Academy did not play a game last Friday, but the Spartans won their season opener 2 weeks ago by defeating Savannah Christian at home, 20 to 7.  Last season, Athens Academy played for the Class A Private School State Title and finished with a 13 & 1 record.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Indians offensive coordinator Coach Sonny Spurlock said that tonight’s game will be a big challenge for the Indians.

Kick-off from the Reservation is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight.

In other area action tonight, Hart County plays at Commerce, Habersham Central is at White County, and Jackson County travels to Lumpkin County.

Franklin County, Banks County, and Rabun County all have the night off
