Indians to take on Tigers at tonight’s Homecoming game

The Stephens County Indians will host the Dawson County Tigers tonight for Homecoming in high school football action.  

Last week, Stephens County had a big win on the road at Flowery Branch, 32 to 7, to improve their record to 3 & 0.  

Dawson County, out of Region 7-AAA, is looking for their first win after 3 games, losing to North Hall last Friday night, 40 to 7.  

Last year, Stephens County defeated Dawson County, 38 to 10.  Kickoff tonight will be at 7:30 p.m. at The Reservation.  

Last night on the Crunch Time radio program, Indians defensive coordinator, Coach Thomas Flowers, said even though Dawson County has not won a game yet, they are a talented team and the Indians better be ready to play:  

93.1 FM & AM-630 WNEG will begin our coverage tonight with the Indian Tailgate Show live from The Reservation at 5:30 p.m., followed by Coach’s Corner at 7, and pre-game at 7:15.

In other games tonight:  Franklin County will travel to Banks County, Hart County will host Daniel, SC, Habersham Central will be on the road to Central Gwinnett, Madison County will play at Cherokee Bluff, East Hall will host Chestatee, North Hall will travel to Walnut Grove.  White County, Rabun County, Commerce, East Jackson, and Elbert County all have the night off.    

Last night, the Junior Varsity Indian lost to Madison County at home, 24 to 6.  The J-V Indians will host Habersham Central next Thursday.  The Stephens County Middle School Rebels won their game at home last night, 40 to 6, to even their record at 2 & 2.  The Rebels will be open next Thursday before they host Hart County Thursday, September 21st.
