Indians to take on Rabun County’s Wildcats, tonight

The Stephens County Indians will travel north to Tiger tonight to take on the Rabun County Wildcats in a non-region football contest.

Last week, the Indians lost at home to Athens Academy, 28 to 7, after opening the season with 2 wins.

Meanwhile, Rabun County had an open date last Friday, but 2 weeks ago, the Wildcats defeated North Murray on the road, 52 to 42, Rabun County’s record is 1 & 1, and tonight’s game will be the Wildcats home opener.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Indians assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach, Caleb Sorrells, said that regardless of who they’re playing, the coaches want the players to get better each week.

Kick-off from Rabun County tonight is set for 7:30 p.m.

Coverage on 93.1 FM & AM 630 WNEG begins at 6:30 p.m. with the Indian Road Show, followed by Coach’s Corner at 7 p.m. and live pre-game coverage starting at 7:15 p.m.  Indian football is also broadcast online at wnegradio.com.

In other area games tonight, Habersham Central will host Franklin County; Banks County will host East Jackson; and White County travels to Pickens County.

Looking around Region 8-AAAA, Madison County will play at Hart County; Oconee County will host Morgan County, and North Oconee will host Elbert County.
