Indians to play Hart County tonight in non-region football game

The Stephens County Indians will play their second game of the young 2019 season tonight as they host the Hart County Bulldogs at The Reservation in a non-region game.

Both teams come into the game with wins to open the season–Stephens County defeated Franklin County last Friday night at home, 42 to 28, while Hart County won their opener over Elbert County, 39 to 7.

Last year, the Indians came out on top over the Bulldogs in a close game in Hartwell—10 to 7, thanks to a field goal with about a minute to go in the game.

Indian Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Sonny Spurlock, was our guest on the “Crunch Time” radio show last night, and he said the Indians’ offense will face a fast and talented Hart County defense tonight.

Kick-off is set for 7:30 tonight.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 5:30 p.m. with the Indian Tailgate Show live from The Reservation.

Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and live pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m.

In addition to Stephens County-Hart County, other games on tonight’s schedule include: Habersham Central hosting Madison County, Franklin County at Banks County, Rabun County hosting North Murray, Commerce hosting Athens Christian, White County hosting Lumpkin County, and Jackson County at North Hall.

Other Region 8-AAAA teams in action tonight include Oconee County at Clarke Central, and North Oconee at Apalachee, and St. Pius at Dunwoody.
