Indians To Be Part of a Six Team Region in 2024-2026
The appeals have been heard and the region realignment for 2024-2026 is set according to the minutes posted today by the Georgia High School Association.
As reported by WNEG earlier, Stephens County will be in region 8-AA, but now will be back in a region of six teams.
Union County used the appeal process and has now been placed in region 7-AA.
Joining Stephens County in region 8-AA will be: Franklin County, Hart County, East Jackson, Prince Avenue Christian, and Hebron Christian.
According to the GHSA meeting minutes for November 16,2023 the committee then entered into a lengthy discussion about the Playoff Evaluation Formula. There were many suggestions brought up during the discussion and the committee seemed to be in agreement that the formula would need some changes from the one originally presented. It was therefore decided that the committee and the office would come up with a modified proposal, which will be presented when the full State Executive Committee meets to ratify the new classes and regions for the 2024-26 school years. The proposal will be emailed to the State Executive Committee members as soon as possible and will be included on the agenda for the November 29th State Executive Committee meeting.
