Indians Swept at Home by Wildcats

Lucy Hood scored 26 points to lead the Lady Wildcats of Rabun County to a 67-28 win over the Stephens County Lady Indians Tuesday at Currahee Arena.

Hood scored half of her points in the first half as Rabun County scored 23 points in the first quarter and never trailed.

Ziyonna Kelly led the Lady Indians with 6 points, followed by Tytiunna Tukes and Fayeth Ivester with five points. The Lady Cats hit seven three-point shots while attempting nearly twice that many.

The Lady Cats are now 11-4 on the season while the Stephens County’s girls drop to 2-10.

The Rabun County boys were led by Huey Blalock’s 39 points as the Cats defeated Stephens County 80-66. Blalock scored 25 of those points in the first half.

The Indians were led by Nuri Winters with 21 points, including five three-points. Javin Gordon chipped in with 13 points.

Rabun County is now 5-10 while the Indians are 4-7.

Next up for the Indians and Lady Indians are two road games, starting Friday night at Elbert County. Gametime is 7 P.M. with airtime at 6:45 P.M.

Saturday, the Indians and Lady Indians make the trip to Rabun County for 3:30 P.M. start with airtime on WNEG at 3:15 P.M.
