Indians Sweep East Jackson

The Stephens County Indians swept a double-header from East Jackson Friday night, and in the process swept the three game region 8-AAA series.

Ayden Garmon scattered five hits and struck out nine in the first game of the twin bill, helping the Indians pull off a 4-2 win.

Carson Worley, Ben Stowe, William Roush, and Craig Thurmond all knocked in
runs in the victory.

The Indians broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning to grab the win. It was the second
region win for the Indians.

The third win came in the night-cap of the double-header with the Indians taking down the East Jackson Eagles 12-2 in six innings. William Roush had three RBIs, Ben Stowe had three hits and two RBIs, Jacob Pruitt knocked in two runs and Carson Worley, Garrett Burgess, and Colby Fowler each had a RBI.

Nick Randall got the win in Game Two, pitching three and a third innings, giving up just two runs and striking out five. Grant Babbitt finished out the game, going an inning and two thirds of scoreless relief and striking out four.

With the two wins, the Indians are now 10-11 on the year and 3-6 in Region 8-AAA action. East Jackson has now lost 12 in a row including nine region games.

Monday’s scheduled game against St. Joseph’s Catholic High School has been cancelled. The next game for the Indians will be Thursday at the Reservation against Banks County with game time at 5:30 P.M. and airtime on WNEG Radio will be 5:20 P.M.
