Indians Split with West Oak

The Stephens County girl’s basketball team dropped a 49-32 decision to the West Oak Girls Friday night at the Currahee Arena.

West Oak was led by Reagan Mobley who tallied 19 points. Miley White
chipped in with 11 points.

Fayeth Ivester led the Lady Indians with 11 points and Carson Stowe had 10 points.
West Oak goes on with an 8-2 record while the Lady Indians fall to 1-6.

The Stephens County boys broke open a close game in the nightcap, scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter to knock off the West Oak Boys 52-42.

A full court press and three steals in the final moments of the game sealed the win for Coach Jeremy Hughes and the boys. Nuri Winters topped all of the Indians with 21 points, Zy Durham contributed 12 points and Javin Gordon had 10 points.

The win for the Indians gives them a 4-3 record while West Oak drops to 4-8.

Next up for the Indians will be a Monday night contest as they host the West Hall Spartans. Gametime will be 6 P.M. with airtime on WNEG at 5:45 P.M.
