Indians Roll into Region Championship

The Stephens County Indians are headed to the region 8-AAA championship game.

Stephens County used a quick and stifling defense and never trailed in the game defeating the Hart County Bulldogs 52-41 Wednesday night in the region-8 semi-final at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville.

The Indians led 14-10 after the first quarter and 26-21 at the half. The Indians held Hart County to just 6 points in the 3rd quarter and led by 11 points after three quarters and held on for the final tally.

Anthony Harrison led the Indians with 14 points and Corey Richie added 10, but the Indians got many contributions from every player that took the floor.

Region-8 player of the year Tahj Johnson led the Bulldogs with 15 points.
