Indians Rally Again! Sweep Warriors

Call them the comeback kids!

For the 2nd time in as many nights the Stephens County Indians baseball team trailed Oconee County heading to the bottom of the 7th inning and walked away with a victory 5-4 at the Reservation on Friday night.

This time the Indians trailed the Warriors 4-1. With one out Cole Beitzel singled, Dawson Dean doubled, Davis Swenson reached on an error, scoring Beitzel, and Kole Rogers hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring Carson Brock running for  Dean from third.

Trailing by one with two out, Griff Pruitt walked, and Dawson Sorrells singled scoring Cole Snyder from 2nd base, running for Swenson, to tie the game. Chaz Bridges then completed the walk off with a solid single up the middle scoring Pruitt with the winning run.

Bryson Fowler pitched a scoreless top of the 7th inning, allowing one hit and striking out three to get the win. Bridges pitched five innings, allowing eight hits and striking out four, and Gabe White pitched a scoreless 6th inning striking out three.

The Indians complete the season series sweep of the Warriors and are now 3-0 in Region-8 AAAA play and 17-1 overall.

Oconee County falls to 0-3 in the region and 5-11 overall.

The Indians next game is Monday at Jefferson. Airtime is scheduled for 5:45 P.M. with first pitch at 5:55 P.M. on WNEG.
