Indians Pick Up Big Win in Holiday Tournament

The Stephens County Indians picked up a win Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Border Wars Christmas Tournament at the Currahee Arena.

Corey Richie had 19 points to lead Stephens County to a 70-61 victory over the Walhalla Razorbacks.

Jet Black helped out with four three-point shots and twelve points. The win was the third for the Indian boys this season.

Walhalla was led by Loyal Piker with 28 points.

The Indians improve to 3-5 on the season and will face Athens Christian later today.

The Lady Indians were not as fortunate as they dropped a 48-28 decision to the Lady Patriots of Powdersville, South Carolina. Bree Woods led the Lady Patriots with 20 points including five three-point shots.

Stephens County was led by Fayeth Ivester with 6 points.

The Lady Indians are now 2-8 and will play the Lady Eagles from Athens Christian this afternoon at 4PM.
