Indians Open Season at White County

Football season kicks off tonight for most area high school teams.  The Stephens County Indians will begin their season by traveling up to Cleveland to play the White County Warriors in a non-region game. The Indians hope to bounce back from a disappointing 1 & 9 record last year. Both the Indians and Warriors have dropped from Class Quad-A to Class Triple-A, with the Indians going into Region 8 and White County to Region 7. This will be the first time Stephens County and White County has met on the gridiron in the regular season since 2015.

Kick-off is set for 7:30 tonight.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 6:30 p.m. with the Indians Road Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and live pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m. You can also listen online at wnegradio.com and on the free WNEG Radio app.

In addition to Stephens County-White County, other games on tonight’s schedule include: Habersham Central hosting Madison County, Franklin County at Lumpkin County, Banks County hosting Commerce, and Rabun County at Ridgeland.  Also, Hart County’s game at Elbert County was cancelled by Elbert County. So Hart County will now travel to Jesup to play Wayne County.
