Indians Keep Rolling with Shutout of East Jackson

The Stephens County Indians improved to 7-0 Monday night downing East Jackson 10-0 in six innings.

The Indians grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning when Dawson Dean walked, Cole Beitzel singled, and Dawson Sorrells drove in both with a 2-RBI single.

Stephens County added four more in the third inning. Griff Pruitt reached on an error and scored on a Bryson Fowler two-out single. After a Dean walk, Beitzel tripled home 2 more runs, and Chaz Bridges singled home Beitzel to make it 6-0.

Austin page hit a solo home run in the 4th inning to make it 7-0, and the Indians added two more runs in the 5th when Bridges singled, Kole Rogers singled, Ben Hobbs singled scoring Bridges, and Austin Page singled scoring Rogers.

The Indians finished the game in the 6th inning when Carson Brock walked and scored on a Rogers single.

Davis Swenson(now 3-0) was again outstanding on the mound pitching 5 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out 6, and allowing just 3 hits. Zach Boyd struck out two of the 3 batters he faced in one inning of work.

Halton Hardy picked up the loss for East Jackson. The Eagles fall to 5-2 with the loss.

Stephens County has scored a minimum of 7 runs in each game this year and banged out 13 hits in the game.

The Indians will be back on the road Tuesday night when they travel to Hart County. Airtime is set for 5:45 P.M. with first pitch at 5:55 P.M. on WNEG.
