Indians in Alpharetta for 2nd Round Tonight

The Stephens County Indians Basketball team is on the road tonight in the 2nd round of the AAAA State Playoffs at Denmark High School in Alpharetta. Denmark is the #1 seed from Region-7 and is 23-6 this season.

Denmark is a new high school so this is a year of first for the Danes. They had their first Region-7 win over Chestatee in December, their first Region-7 Championship defeating Marist, and their first state playoff win last week over Ridgeland.

Stephens County enters the game at 17-10. The Indians won an exciting game last Friday night downing Troup County 62-59 at Currahee Arena. The Indians are looking for their first trip to the Elite Eight in many years.

Airtime for tonight’s Stephens County-Denmark game is set for 6:15 P.M. with tipoff at 6:30 P.M. on 93.1 FM & AM-630 WNEG as well as at wnegradio.com.

Other state playoff games tonight featuring area teams include in the AAA playoffs Hart County at North Murray, and Franklin County at Beach. St. Pius is the only other team still alive from Region-8 in the AAAA playoffs and the will host Marist tonight in Atlanta.
