Indians Get Another Gem-Beat Hart

The Stephens County Indians received another quality mound start to shutout Hart County 5-0 on Tuesday night in Hartwell.

Dawson Sorrells pitched 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9. Josh Henshaw got the final out facing one batter.

Sorrells also helped himself at the plate going 2 for 4 with a RBI.

The Indians scored in the first inning when Cayden Maxwell scored on a wild pitch. They added 3 more runs in the 2nd inning when Sorrells singled home Cole Snyder, and Isaiah Martin scored Carson Brock and Sorrells with a 2-out single.

The Indians scored the 5th and final run on a Martin sacrifice fly that scored Brock.

Sorrells picked up the win on the mound to go to 1-1 on the season and now has 18 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. Malachi Thomas took the loss for Hart County.

Stephens County improves to 3-1-1. Hart County falls to 1-3.

The Indians will next host Franklin County on Friday. Airtime at 5:20 P.M. with first pitch at 5:30 P.M. on WNEG.
