Indians Finish 7th in Pre-Christmas Tourney

The Stephens County Indians Boys Basketball team participated in an eight team Holiday Tournament at Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina and finished in 7th place.

The Indians won their third and final game of the tournament defeating Fox Creek of North Augusta, S.C. 47-39 on Saturday.

The Indians opened the tournament falling to eventual champion Wade Hampton High School out of Greenville, S.C. on Thursday.

The Indians dropped their second tournament game Friday falling to T.L. Hanna High School of Anderson, South Carolina.

Stephens County’s Montavis Thornton was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Indians are now 8-3 on the season.

The Indians Boys and Girls will now participate in a post Christmas tournament this week at West Oak High School in Westminster, South Carolina with the boys scheduled to meet Easley High School Wednesday at 11:30 A.M.

WNEG will not broadcast the tournament, but will report the results. The next broadcast of Indians Basketball on WNEG will be January 2nd when the Indians travel to Rabun County.
