Indians Fall to Leopards; Split Series

The Stephens County Indians start a five-game road stretch with a loss.

Banks County beat the Indians 5-1 Wednesday in Homer in non-region baseball action, behind strong pitching from Dylan Patrick.

Starting the game for the Leopards, Patrick went six innings and allowed just one run and five hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Levi Craig pitched the seventh inning for Banks County.

Offensively, Dustin Ledford hit a two-run home run for Banks County.

The Leopards also got 2 RBI’s from Zane Millwood and an RBI single from Judd Roberts.

Evan Rumsey led the way for the Indians on offense with three hits, including two doubles.

The Indians’ only run came in the top of the fourth, when Rumsey doubled and scored on an RBI double by Kenneth Brock.

Tristen Powell took the loss on the mound for Stephens County, allowing five runs in six innings.

Stephens County drops to 4-2 on the season with the loss, while Banks County moves to 3-2 with the win.

The Indians are back on the road Friday night in Carnesville to take on the Franklin County Lions in another non-region baseball game.
