Indians face Hartwell in battle for 1st

The Stephens County Indians will be back in action tonight in high school football as they travel to Hartwell to play the Hart County Bulldogs. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m..  

The Indians are undefeated after 7 games, including a 2 & 0 region record.

Hart County has a record of 4 & 3 overall and 2 & 0 in the region, so tonight’s game will be for sole possession of 1 st place in Region 8-AAA. 

Both teams were off last week—Stephens County defeated Franklin County on October 6th, 52 to 7, while Hart County defeated Oconee County, 27 to 16. 

Last year, the Indians won at home over the Bulldogs, 30 to 14.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s defensive backs coach, Rocky Fulbright, said Hart County is playing well now after losing some games early in the season: 

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 6:30 tonight with the Indian Road Show, followed by Coach’s Corner at 7 p.m. and pre-game at 7:15. 

In the other Region 8-AAA games tonight, Franklin County will play at Hebron Christian and Oconee County will host Monroe Area.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Habersham Central will host North Forsyth, Rabun County will travel to Athens Christian, Banks County will host Athens Academy, East Jackson will host Union County, Commerce will travel to Elbert County, White County will play at Lumpkin County, Madison County will host East Forsyth, and East Hall will travel to Cherokee Bluff.
