Indians Earn Split with Hart County

NaNa Eades scored 22 points, including 7 for 7 from the free throw line, and the Stephens County Lady Indians basketball team used a stingy defense to down Hart County 53-38 Tuesday night in Hartwell.

The Lady Indians led 15-4 at the end of the 1st quarter and took an eleven point lead to halftime.

The Lady Indians maintained a double digit lead for most of the 2nd half to improve to 2-1 in Region-8 AAA and 11-5 overall.

Hart County was led by Alexis Walker’s 16 points, and falls to 0-1 in the region and 8-6 overall.

In the boys game, Hart County led by 10 at the half, but took a huge lead after three quarters behind the shooting of JC Curry to take 72-40 victory over Stephens County.

Kenny Colwell and DJ Hampton scored 9 points each to lead the Indians, now 1-2 in Region-8 AAA and 7-7 overall.

Hart County improves to 3-0 in the Region, and 12-3 overall.

The Indians and Lady Indians will be back on the road in Region play on Friday when the travel to Monroe Area. Airtime is set for 6:45 P.M. on WNEG.
