Indians down week a chance to prep for next weeks battle for top spot in Region

The Stephens County Indians football team has the night off tonight due to an open date on their schedule.

After 7 games, the Indians are still undefeated on the season. Last Friday, Stephens County defeated Franklin County at home, 52 to 7. The Indians’ region record is now 2 & 0.

They’ll resume their schedule next Friday night, October 20th, when they travel to Hartwell to play the Hart County Bulldogs for sole possession of 1st place in Region 8-AAA.

Hart County goes into their open date tonight with an overall record of 4 & 3, and, like Stephens County, 2 & 0 in the region.

The other 4 Region 8-AAA teams—Franklin County, Oconee County, Monroe Area, and Hebron Christian—all have open dates tonight.

Elsewhere in the area tonight:  Habersham Central will host Gainesville, Rabun County will host Elbert County, Commerce will host Athens Christian, White County will host West Hall, North Hall will host Chestatee, and Madison County will travel to Cedar Shoals. Banks County, East Hall, and East Jackson all have the night off.
