Indians Cross State Lines and Down Razorbacks

Chaz Bridges pitched six solid innings and went two for three at the plate with 2 RBI’s to lead Stephens County to an 11-5 win on a cold Thursday night at Walhalla.

The Indians, playing in their only scheduled game in a different state this year, trailed 2-0 after one inning, but scored seven runs in the 2nd inning on just one hit. The Indians took advantage of five walks, two hit by pitch, and two Razorback errors to grab the 7-2 lead.

The Indians scored four more runs in the  4th inning when Dawson Dean was hit by a pitch, Cole Beitzel doubled, Bridges singled scoring Dean and Bietzel, Zach Boyd reached on an error scoring Gabe White running for Bridges, and Boyd scored on a double play grounder.

Walhalla scored three runs in the sixth inning on five straight singles.

Bridges struck out eight, with no walks in the game and moved to 2-1 on the season.

Sam Burrell got the loss for Walhalla now 2-2.

Stephens County improves to 12-1 on the season and will travel to Cedar Shoals Friday night. Airtime is set for 5:20 P.M. with first pitch at 5:30 P.M. on WNEG.
