Indians Break Streak with Home Non-Region Win

The Stephens County Indians broke a seven-game losing streak by outlasting the
Walhalla Razorbacks 14-11 Thursday evening at the Reservation.

Walhalla jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but the Indians
answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Walhalla scored six
runs in the next two innings highlighted by home runs by Tobie Lowe and Ander
Hunnicutt.

Stephens County scored single runs in the third and fourth innings. Konnor
Loudermilk had a home run to highlight the fourth inning.

With the Razorbacks leading 11-9 going into the bottom of the sixth inning,
Stephens County sent nine men to the plate, scoring five runs to put them in the
lead for just the second time in the game.

Lane Pressley entered the game in the sixth inning on the mound for the Indians,
in relief of Colby Fowler and Jack Wilhoit. In two and two third innings, Pressley
allowed just one hit, struck out four and picked up the win. Connor McCorkle
started for Walhalla and went the first five innings before being relieved by
Wright McCall, who suffered the loss.

Findley Ward had three RBIs in the contest, Colby Fowler, Konnor Loudermilk and
Lane Pressley each had two RBIs and William Roush knocked in a run with a
double.

Stephens County is now 8-13 on the season while the Walhalla Razorbacks are 7-
6.This was a non-region game for the Indians.
