Indians Bounce Back with Win Over Red Elephants

Stephens County pitchers Nick Randall and Ayden Garmon allowed just three infield hits Wednesday night as the Indians defeated the Gainesville Red Elephants, 5-3.

Nick Randall started for Stephens County and went three innings, giving up three runs, allowing two hits, striking out two, walking one and hitting three batters. Randall picked up the win.

Ayden Garmon, who started at second base, came in to relieve in the fourth inning with no-one out and got out of the inning with just one run scored. He finished the game, giving up just one hit and striking out three.

After Gainesville scored a run in the top of the second inning, the Indians came back in the bottom half of the inning with four runs, aided by three Red Elephant errors. Seth Jamison, Jacob Pruitt and Garmon had RBI’s in the inning. Nick Randall drove in a run with a sac fly in the third inning. Cruz Mullinix was on base four times with two walks, a single and a double.

Ethan Payne, Alex Kelley and Cooper Reid had RBIs for Gainesville.

The Indians are now 5-4 on the season while Gainesville falls to 2-5.

The two teams meet again Friday afternoon at 5:45 P.M. in Gainesville at Lanier Park. Air time on WNEG Radio will be 5:30 P.M.
