Indians Begin Region Play Tonight

After having the previous two Friday nights off, the Stephens County Indians will be back in action tonight as they travel to Watkinsville to face the Oconee County Warriors in high school football. Kickoff will be at 7:30.

This will be the first Region game for the Indians, who enter the game with an overall record of 1 & 5. Meanwhile, Oconee County is 6 & 1 on the season under former Stephens County Coach, Travis Noland. They played their first region game last Friday against St. Pius, and won, 21 to 7.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s defensive backs coach, Rocky Fulbright, said Oconee County’s receivers along with their big offensive line will be a challenge for the Indians defense.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 6:30 p.m. with the Indian Road Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m.
In the other Region 8 AAAA game tonight, North Oconee host St. Pius.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Franklin County will host East Jackson, Hart County will travel to Monroe Area, Banks County will host Union County, Rabun County will go to Elbert County, and White County will host West Hall.
Habersham Central has the night off.
