Indians Basketball Teams Take 3 of 4 in Tournament

The Stephens County girls and boys basketball teams fared well in this week’s East Jackson Christmas Tournament at East Jackson High School.

The Lady Indians improved to 7-1 on the season defeating Mountain View High School of Lawrenceville on Monday 56-32. The Lady Indians led by just 1 at the half, but outscored Mountain View 34 to 11 in the second half for the rout. The Lady Indians followed that one with a 64-28 blowout of Central Gwinnett on Tuesday.

The Indian boys split a pair of games in the tournament falling to Mountain View 59-46 on Monday, but bouncing back with a 52-47 win over Flowery Branch on Tuesday. The Indians are now 6-4 on the season.

Both teams will return to the hardwood and Region-8 AAA play on Friday, January 8^th when they travel to rival Franklin County. Airtime is scheduled for 6:45 P.M. on WNEG.
