Indians Baseball Falls in Season Opener

The Stephens County Indians baseball team lost a close season opener 4-2 at Apalachee on Tuesday night.

The Indians scored in their first at bat to take an early 1-0 lead, but Apalachee came back with a Grand Slam in the bottom of the inning to lead 4-1 and only allowed one more run the rest of the way.

After the Grand Slam, the Indians pitched lights out with Cruz Mullinix and Nick Randall pitching well in relief.

The Indians now 0-1 on the season will return to the diamond on Saturday when they face Gainesville and Habersham Central back to back on Saturday at Raider Field.

Habersham Central will host Gainesville at 11 A.M. followed by the Indians and Red Elephants and 2 P.M., and the Indians and Raiders at 5 P.M.

WNEG will broadcast the two Indian games with airtime set for 1:45 P.M. this Saturday.
