Indians Baseball Dealt First Loss at Elbert

The Stephens County Indians baseball team suffered the first loss of the season falling at Elbert County 5-4.

The game was scoreless through four innings, but the Indians scored four in the top of the 5th inning to take a 4-0 lead. Elbert County would score 4 of their own in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, and scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 6th inning.

The Indians were led at the plate by Colby Fowler with 2 hits, and Craig Thurmond and Ethan Smith each had a double.

Konnor Loudermilk pitched well going 4 and 1/3 innings.

Elbert County improves to 2-0. Stephens County falls to 2-1.

The Indians will return home on Tuesday when they host Rabun County with first pitch scheduled for 5:30 P.M. and airtime at 5:20 on WNEG.
