Indians and Lady Indians Win Two in Post-Christmas Tournaments

The Stephens County Lady Indians Basketball team won both games they played in the Post-Christmas Apple Classic in South Carolina.

The Lady Indians defeated Broome High School on Thursday 68-40, and followed that up with a 67-44 win over Powdersville on Friday.

The Lady Indians will start the new year with a 7-6 record and have won their last three games.

The Stephens County Boys Basketball team won two out of three Post-Christmas games defeating Easley High School on Wednesday 72-56, falling to Walhalla High School on Thursday 80-72, and bouncing back with a win over Winder-Barrow on Friday 81-52.

The Indians had a tough go of it in the Holiday Tournament at Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina prior to Christmas.

The Indians finished 7th in the Eight team tournament falling to the eventual champion Wade Hampton High School in the opener 83-44, losing the next game to T.L. Hanna High School 70-52, but closing tournament play with a 47-39 victory over Fox Creek.

The Indians now have a record of 10-4 heading to Tuesday night’s game at Rabun County. The Wildcats are still without a victory this season.

The Lady Indians take their three game streak to Rabun County. The Lady Wildcats were last year’s Class AA Runner-up, and is off to a 9-2 start this year.
