Ida Cox Summer Music Series starts on Saturday

Main Street Toccoa is kicking off its Ida Cox Summer Music Series this Saturday, June 4.

The annual summer music series runs through August.

Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby says this year’s concert series will be a combination of returning and new performers.

Crosby says Toccoa Jazz has opened the summer concert series for several years in a row, and again is the first headlining act of the 2022 Ida Cox Music Series.

Toccoa Jazz is known within Toccoa and throughout Northeast Georgia for their venerable selection of jazz classics and their excellent performance.

Jim Harper, winner of the singer/songwriter category of Open Mic Monday, will be the opening act at 7 p.m.

The rest of the 2022 season includes performances by Thunder Gypsy on June 11, Frankie’s Blues Mission on June 18, Steelin’ the Show on June 25, Edgar Loudermilk on July 2, Vintage Vixens on July 9, Eddie Ray Arnold on July 16, Radford Windum on July 23, Maggie Valley Band on July 30, Last Call Band on August 6, Jack Hicks on August 13, Classic City Jukebox on August 20, and Milkshake Mayfield on August 27.

Crosby says the Ida Cox Music Series, named after famed Toccoan Blues musician, Ida Cox, features free music in downtown Toccoa every Saturday in June, July, and August.

The music starts at 7:00 p.m. and the series last until approximately 10:00 p.m. each Saturday night.

Crosby says bring a lawn chair to downtown Toccoa and enjoy live music, food, and drink in a relaxing atmosphere.
