Hunter Callahan Featured at Saturday’s Ida Cox Music Fest

Hunter Callahan takes center stage at this weekend’s Ida Cox concert

Hunter Callahan is the featured performer for this weekend’s Ida Cox Concert series.

Callahan, along with his band will bring his own unique style of Indie music to the stage Saturday evening at 8p in downtown Toccoa.

Already an accomplished blues guitarist by the age of 17, Callahan began writing his own music and after a few years in the Atlanta indie music scene, Hunter was selling out Atlanta music venues.

Callahan will be performing songs he has written and recorded from his album, “Broken Hearts & Melodies” along with other new original music.

Main Street Event Coordinator Sharon Crosby says if you’ve never heard Indie folk music, you should come and hear Hunter Callahan Saturday evening or just come for a fun evening of music under the stars.

“We found that many people like to come no matter what the music,” Crosby said. “They enjoy the community spirit and they like to come and sit and listen to good music and be with friends and family. So, it’s as much about the event sometimes as it is about what type of music is going to be playing.”

Ethan Philips will open the show Saturday evening at 7p and Callahan will start at 8p.

The concert will be held at the Ritz Theatre if there is inclement weather.
