Huckaby Denied Bond in First Court Appearance

Robert Jacob Huckaby had his first appearance in court during an initial bond hearing in front of Chief Magistrate Judge Cody Grizzle.

Bond was denied by Grizzle on the grounds Huckaby is a flight risk.

Huckaby led law enforcement officials on a week-long chase before finally being captured on Tuesday.

Huckaby fled on foot during a traffic stop on Wednesday evening, March 14. At that time deputies learned Huckaby had an outstanding warrant for probation violation.

Along with the outstanding warrant, Huckaby now faces additional charges of obstruction, possession of marijuana, giving false information to law enforcement officials and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Huckaby has a lengthy criminal history, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Huckaby had just been released from prison on October 4, 2017.
