Hospital Authority to Meet Tonight

The Stephens County Hospital Authority is having a called meeting tonight to continue working on improving the hospital’s financial stability.

Last week, the authority approved the continued engagement with healthcare consulting firm, Stroudwater Associates to implement the operational and financial turnaround initiatives that they previously identified.

Stroudwater employee Roger Forgey began working last Tuesday to execute these initiatives.

Anderson said if these initiatives help the hospital become profitable again, the hospital could continue operating as Stephens County Hospital and if not, the board has the option to look at the possibility of a larger entity purchasing the hospital.

But she said either way, the priority is to improve the hospital’s financial stability.

The meeting is tonight at 6 p.m. in the hospital board room.
