HOPE for a Drug Free Stephens hosting Community Listening Session on Tuesday

HOPE for a Drug Free Stephens invites all Recovery Champions and Community Leaders to a Community Listening Session this Tuesday, October 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Historic Ritz Theatre.

HOPE for a Drug Free Stephens Co-Chair Kathy Whitmire says this community forum is being held to learn how the community can provide a strong support system for individuals in recovery.

She says representatives from the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse will lead the listening session, Toccoa Mayor Evan Hellenga, Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize and Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley will share comments, and leaders from Reboot Jackson will share how Jackson County has benefited from their Recovery Community Organization.

HOPE for a Drug Free Stephens President Travis Dobbs says “we have to find better solutions to our drug and alcohol problems.”

He says attending the Listening Session on Tuesday will support their efforts to provide strong recovery resources here in Toccoa-Stephens County.

Again, on Tuesday, October 18, attend the Community Listening Session at the Historic Ritz Theatre from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
