Homecoming Tonight at Reservation
Stephens County will go for its third region win in a row tonight when White County visits the Reservation.
It is Homecoming at the Reservation.
The Indians enter tonight’s game with a 4-1 overall record and a 2-0 record in Region 8-AAAA.
Last week, Stephens County held on to beat Monroe Area on the road 42-34 behind more than 250 yards rushing and six rushing touchdowns from Indian running back Desmond Wheeler.
Meanwhile, White County comes into Toccoa with an overall record of 3-2 and a region record of 1-1.
The Warriors came from behind last week to edge Madison County 34-27.
Stephens County and White County have played just twice previously, with each team winning once. The Indians won the last meeting back in 2011 by a 25-14 score.
Indians’ Safeties Coach Kentrell Curry said White County poses some different challenges than Monroe Area did a week ago.
“They are good at what they do,” said Curry. “They are well-coached and hard-nosed. They are going to run the ball downhill. It is going to be a challenge for us to go from a team that spreads it out to run the ball last week to a team this week that packs it in to run the ball.”
Kick-off tonight at the Reservation is 7:30 p.m.
Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on AM 630 WNEG with the Indian Tailgate Show.
Then, it is Coach’s Corner at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the Reservation starts at 7:15 p.m.
