Home Security Camera Helps Sheriff Arrest Two Burglars

A home security camera is responsible for helping Stephens County Sheriff’s investigators to arrest two people on suspicion of burglary.

It happened Monday at a home on Carnes Creek Road.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said investigators were able to look at the video that showed two men, one black, one white kicking in the front door of the home.

The suspects ransacked the home and left within a few minutes.

Both men were later identified as 35-year-old Jamar Haymond of Toccoa and 20-year-old Austin Outz of Lavonia.

Investigators located both men at a residence in another part of the County later Monday.

Haymond and Outz are both charged with felony First Degree Burglary.

They remain in the Stephens County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
