Heavy Rise of Positive Covid-19 Cases for 2nd Straight Day in State

The Department of Public Health is now reporting an even larger rise in positive cases of Covid-19 with over 4300 more cases since Wednesday bringing the total to 433,353. That marks the second straight day of over 4000 cases in the state. Of those with positive cases, just over 500 have been hospitalized in the last two days bringing that total to 35,571, and 81 more died from complications of the virus bringing that total to 8,879.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 1,580 positive cases of Covid-19, and still 45 deaths in Stephens County since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

The new report shows an additional death in Habersham and Rabun counties.

The latest report now has Habersham County with 81 deaths and a total of 2,419 positive cases of the virus, and Rabun County is now reporting 12 deaths and now 619 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 760 cases, Franklin County is still reporting 19 deaths and now 1,213 positive cases,  and Banks County is still reporting 12 deaths, and 797 cases.
