Head-on crash kills 2, critically injures teen on Ga. 365 in Stephens County

A wrong-way crash on Ga. 365 in Stephens County early Saturday has claimed the lives of two people.

At 4:27 a.m., Stephens County 9-1-1 received a call of a wrong-way driver on Ga. 365 near the Stephens/Habersham County line, said Cpl. Dallas Van Scoten of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

“Around 4:30 a.m., Stephens 9-1-1 was notified of a head-on collision on 365,” Van Scoten said.

Van Scoten said a car driven by a 16-year-old male struck a car occupied by two females head-on in the left lane of Ga. 365.

According to Van Scoten, the two females Kathy Franklin and daughter Ally Franklin of Toccoa were dead at the scene and the 16-year-old was airlifted to Greenville and at last report was critical.
