Hart County Sweeps Indians at Currahee Arena

The Hart County Lady Bulldogs broke open a 20-20 half time tie and cruised to a 59-31 win over the Stephens County Lady Indians Tuesday night at the Currahee Arena. The Lady Indians only managed to score 3 points in the third quarter and were never able to recover.

Hart County’s girls were led by Dakota Phillips who poured in 25 points. Madison McLane chipped in with 11.

The Lady Indians, playing with a depleted squad, were led by A’Niya Mayweather with 10 points. Aleria Faulkner also had 8 points.

Stephens County is now 0-3 in region 8-AAA while Hart County’s girls are 12-5 overall and 2-1 in region play.

In the boy’s game, 13 points from Jashon Gaines and 12 points from Ramarcus Simpson gave the ‘Dogs a 75-61 win over Stephens County.

The Indians held a four-point lead after the first quarter but could not catch the Bulldogs after that. Nuri Winters hit four three-point shots and ended up with 13 points to
lead the Indians while Javin Gordon had 9 points and Semaj Walker had 8 points.

The loss was the second loss in a row for the Indians who now fall to 8-10 overall and 1-2 in region play.

Hart County is 2-1 in region play and 8-10 overall.

The Indians are at home Friday night against the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes. Game time will be 6 P.M. with airtime on WNEG at 5:45 P.M.
