Hart County party ends with 3 people shot

Update 10/27/ – 11:30 a.m.
Tyler Avant Carter, 19, of Hartwell, has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident on October 22. His current charges included aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit murder, criminal attempt to commit feticide, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Hart County Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in connection with the shootings last weekend at a Halloween party.
Investigator Capt. Chris Carroll said a suspect was arrested late Thursday afternoon.
Carroll said the suspect is facing multiple felony charges.
As of Thursday evening, Carrol said the investigation is still ongoing and it’s not clear yet if the person they have in custody was the sole shooter.
Carroll said the party began last Saturday night on Nancy Hart School Road.
He said deputies had been called out to the party at least once before the shootings. Then, at about 1:24 a.m,. Sunday morning October 22, Sheriff’s deputies responded again to the party scene in reference to an individual being shot. Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found a large gathering of individuals and were able to determine that at three two people had been shot.
The Hart County Sheriff’s office then called in agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist.
Capt Carroll said they expect to release the name of the person in custody sometime today.
The male victim, and one of the female victims, were treated and released. The third victim, a female, who was shot in the face, was transported to Greenville Memorial and is reportedly now in stable condition.
