Haitian Gang threatens LHLT Ministries and other missionaries

Haiti has become a country of lawlessness now run by gangs, and missionary groups serving those in need in Haiti are in constant danger.

LoveHimLoveThem Ministries Founder Linda Gunter says that was made clear after this weekend’s kidnapping of 17 American missionaries from Ohio.

Gunter founded LoveHimLoveThem Ministries specifically to help the children and the poor in Haiti. She says the members of the 400 Mawozo gang who took the American missionaries have also threatened the missionaries with LoveHimLoveThem and made demands.

LoveHimLoveThem has orphanages, schools, and a recently built hospital in various locations in Haiti with teams of Haitian citizens helping the ministry’s work.

Gunter says when the Haitian President was assassinated in July, Haiti has become a country of lawlessness.

She says the gang has demanded LoveHimLoveThem add the gang to their payroll.

Gunter says they ultimately have two choices to make.

“We can either negotiate with the gang or shut it down,” she said.

She says if they shut the ministry down it would be devastating for the areas they serve.

Gunter says they need help in Haiti to restore the country back to order.
