Habersham County Schools Closed Friday Due to Weather

Due to an approaching tropical storm that is expected to impact our area, Habersham County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Friday, November 11.

According to the Habersham County School District the decision to close schools was based on the following factors:

1) Habersham County is in the potential path of the tropical storm.

2) Habersham County is under a wind advisory until tomorrow evening.

3). Our local emergency management agency advises that our county could see wind gusts high enough to affect school buses, student drivers, bring down trees, and cause power outages.

We are going to play it safe tomorrow and keep everyone off the roadways.
