Habersham County restricts access to its Emergency Services Houses

Effective immediately, all Habersham County Emergency Services Houses will restrict access to only department personnel and other essential county employees, in response to the emergence of the COVID-19 Delta Variant.

In a press release issued by Habersham County’s Public Information Officer Carolyn Gibson, the county has placed signage on the doors to make visitors and the public aware of the change.

These measures help to assure the safety of the county’s personnel and its citizens.

Gibson says personnel who could become infected or sick and can’t work puts a heavier burden on the current workforce issues the fire and EMS industry has been experiencing, and that could cause the potential for service delivery to have delays in response times or worse.

Additionally, Gibson explained the protection and security of Habersham County personnel must come first so Habersham County citizens can feel assured there is help when they require Emergency services.

Again, effective immediately, all Habersham County Emergency Services Houses will restrict access to only department personnel and other essential county employees.
