Habersham County Elections & Voter Registration Office relocating to Cornelia Feb. 19

The new location of the Habersham County Elections and Voter Registration Office will open at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.

The new office, located at 403 Habersham County Shopping Center, Cornelia, is just up from Belk next to the former Community Bank & Trust Operations Center on 441 Bypass and will operate weekdays and as required.

Habersham County Elections Supervisor Laurel Ellison said the current office in the Habersham County Administration Building in Clarkesville will be open through Friday, Feb. 16, then will permanently close at the end of the day.

The new Cornelia location also will serve as the Habersham South Precinct.

Early voting weeks at the Cornelia location will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 19 to March 1. Advance voting week will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4-8. Saturday voting there will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 24 and March 2.

Advance voting week at the Habersham North Precinct at the Habersham County Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center, 120 Paul Franklin Road, Clarkesville, will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4-8. Saturday voting will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2.

The deadline to register to vote in the March 12 Presidential Preference  Primary was Monday, Feb. 12.
