Great Start for SCHS Softball

The Stephens County Softball team has a big opening weekend.

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team opened the 2015 season with a big win Friday evening over the Elbert Co. Lady Blue Devils 7-1. The Indians were led in hitting by Karly Smith who was 2 for 2 with a Triple and 2 RBI ‘s and Natalie Morgan who was 3 for 3 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI ‘s. Mckenzie Rodgers pitched a complete game with 5 strikeouts for the win.

The Lady Indians hosted a tournament on Saturday at the Reservation and won all three games to take the tournament title. The Lady Indians shut out East Jackson 10-0. Emma Whitfield hit a 3-run homerun and pitched a complete game for the win.
Then the Indians held off a late rally by Hart County to win 8-7. The Indians were led by Bryn Roberts’ 3 singles and 2 RBI’s .  Ivey Andrews and Mckenzie Rodgers pitched in the win.
In the final game the Lady Indians rallied from 5-runs down for a 6-5 win. Peyton Terrell led the Indians with 2 doubles and Emma Whitfield pitched a complete game for the win.

The Lady Indians next game is Wednesday at 5:30 P.M at East Hall.
