Government offices closed Monday for Labor day

The City of Toccoa has released its holiday schedule for Monday’s Labor Day holiday.

The City of Toccoa has announced that Toccoa City Hall will be closed Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day.

Routes for garbage and recycling scheduled to be picked up Monday, September 4, will be picked up on Tuesday, September 5.

Commercial garbage will be picked up as usual, but yard waste and other items will not be picked up.

The Toccoa Police and Fire Departments will be on duty. Utility department employees, as well as employees from the Public Works Department, will be on call for emergency situations.

The Links at Lake Toccoa will operate on its normal schedule.

Stephens County Government Offices will also be closed Monday for the holiday.

All Stephens County Public Schools and the School District office will be closed on Monday, as will the Toccoa/Stephens County Public Library and all Post Office facilities. 

Also closed for the Labor Day Holiday will be the Stephens County Development Authority and the Toccoa/Stephens County Chamber of Commerce. 

The Toccoa/Stephens County Visitor’s Center and the Currahee Military Museum will be open on their regular schedule Monday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Federal and State offices, such as the Social Security Administration office in Toccoa, and the Toccoa Career Center, will also be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.

The Rose Lane Recreation Complex will be open for use, including tennis courts, playgrounds, the dog park and walking paths, but offices will be closed on Monday. The splash pad will be open during normal Monday hours, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday will be the final day the splash pad will be open for public use or rental until next spring.
