Gov. Kemp to visit Habersham County’s Mass Vaccination Site Monday

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will make a stop in Habersham County next week to visit the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Mass Vaccination Site.

Kemp will tour the site beginning at 8:30 a.m.

As a reminder, GEMA/HS opened four Mass Vaccination Sites across the state for COVID-19 last month.

The drive-through sites have the capacity to vaccinate 1,100 people per day, per site for a total of 22,000 people a week between each of the four sites.

The sites operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Here locally, Habersham County Fairgrounds, located at 4235 Toccoa Highway, Clarkesville, is the GEMA mass vaccination site.

Appointments are mandatory and can be made by visiting myvaccinegeorgia.com.

Only individuals who meet the phase 1A guidelines are eligible for vaccination at this time.

This phase includes healthcare workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, adults age 65 and over and their at-home caregivers, and first responders, including law enforcement, fire personnel, dispatchers and 911 operators.
