Georgia DNR Releases 2019-2020 Hunting Regulations and Guide

Hunters can now pick up the new 2019-2020 Georgia Hunting Seasons and Regulations Guide.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division, announced this week that the guide is now available online and in print.

Hunters can access important information on season dates, bag limits, hunting licenses, wildlife management areas, quota hunts, as well as youth hunting opportunities.

There are some changes to the hunting regulations for this upcoming hunting season.

For example, the number of either sex deer hunting days has increased for Banks, Franklin and Hart counties, and decreased for counties in the Mountains and Ridge Valley regions.

Also, all Chattahoochee National Forest lands east of I-75 are closed to antlerless deer hunting during archery, primitive weapons, and firearms deer seasons.

Additionally, air guns are legal weapons for hunting big game during primitive weapons and firearms season, but there are restrictions.

Also new this season, the DNR has extended Archery Deer Season in some middle Georgia and southern counties including Bibb, Chatham, Clarke and Henry County.  Those counties have been added to the list of counties where archery season is open until Jan. 31.

And for bear hunters, the Central Zone hunt has been moved to the third Saturday in December.

And finally, the DNR has added some new public hunting areas in Middle and South Georgia.

Copies of the hunting guide is available to download and print at: 2019-2020 Georgia Hunting Regulations.

Or you can pick up a printed copy at any Wildlife Resources Division office or license vendor throughout Georgia.
