GDOL Recruiting for Amazon Warehouse Workers

The Georgia Department of Labor’s career centers are hosting a recruitment for Amazon’s facility that will be opening in Jackson County on August 1.

Amazon is looking for 700-1,000 warehouse workers for the new distribution facility.

Recruitments will be today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Athens and Gainesville career centers.

Representatives from Amazon will be on site at both locations to discuss the employment opportunities and to explain and complete the hiring process.

Applicants must be at least 18-years-old and have a high school diploma or GED. They also must be available to work four, 10-hour shifts per week and climb at least 45 feet.

The employer encourages applicants with no work history to apply and salaries will begin at $11 an hour. Overtime is available and the company will offer employer-provided benefits.
