GBI releases update in missing person case

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has released an update in the case of the missing person report from July 12th.

18-year-old Julie Ann Mosier left her residence in Danielsville around 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, headed to Elberton and never returned.

According to GBI spokesperson Nelly Miles, both Mosier’s body and the 1994 Chevy Lumina had been recovered near the intersection of Parhamtown Road and US Highway 172 in a nearby pond in Elbert County.

Miles added investigators are waiting for the results of an autopsy, conducted by the GBI Crime Lab, for the official cause and manner of death ruling from the medical examiner.

The case has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol to be investigated as a vehicle accident.
